How I Support Confident Readers
Every child’s journey is different. That’s why each lesson, assessment, and conversation is personalized to your child’s unique needs and learning style.
Every Child Deserves to Feel Confident About Reading
When a child struggles with reading, it can affect more than just schoolwork; it touches their confidence, motivation, and even family routines.
At Read Brave, I offer personalized, evidence-based reading instruction designed to meet your child where they are, build their confidence, and help them make steady, meaningful progress.
Whether your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia, shows signs of reading difficulty, or simply needs extra support, I’ll meet them with compassion, structure, and strategies that work.
What I Offer
At Read Brave, every child’s journey begins with understanding. I combine structured literacy methods with a caring, individualized approach to meet each learner where they are and help them move forward with confidence.
Individualized Reading Lessons
Each lesson is tailored to your child’s unique learning profile. I use an Orton-Gillingham–based, multisensory approach to teach the structure of language in a way that makes sense and sticks. Lessons are engaging, structured, and paced for steady growth helping students feel capable, not overwhelmed.
Available in person or online, sessions are designed to fit into your family’s routine while giving your child the tools they need to thrive.
Informal Assessments & Progress Tracking
Before beginning lessons, I take time to build a connection with your child so they feel comfortable and confident. Once we’ve established trust, I conduct an informal assessment to better understand their strengths and challenges. This helps me create a customized plan and track progress along the way, celebrating each small victory that leads to lasting confidence.
Collaboration & Communication with Parents
Open communication is at the heart of Read Brave. I keep parents informed about progress, goals, and strategies so that you always feel confident about how your child is doing and how you can support learning at home.
You’re never in the dark about what we’re working on or how far your child has come.

My Approach to Teaching Reading
As an IMSE Certified and LETRS Trained educator and a Certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (C-SLDI) through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction, I use structured literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading.
This means lessons are:
- Explicit: skills are taught directly, not left to chance
- Systematic: concepts build on each other in a logical order
- Multisensory: using visual, auditory, and kinesthetic activities for deeper learning
When children understand why language works the way it does, and feel supported every step of the way, they build not just reading skill, but reading confidence.
Parent Partnership Matters
I see every child’s journey as a team effort. My goal is to help your child feel successful in the classroom and supported at home — because when parents and educators work together, children flourish.
